No configuro un punto de acceso inalámbrico (AP)

Intento que esta tarjeta sea ​​un punto de acceso y estoy fallando. Probé varias versiones de Ubuntu y revisé ARM e i386. La versión del núcleo que utilicé es 2.6.35, y no hay Network Manager.

Para que esto funcione, espero ver a AP en los Supported interface modes en esa salida (como lo hago cuando lo conecto en mi escritorio Debian 7.0+, que tiene Network Manager ejecutándose).

Lo más probable es que el problema era que mi kernel era demasiado viejo. Hice uso de las herramientas compat-wireless , que respaldan los nuevos controlleres inalámbricos a kernels viejos. Obtuve la última versión mostrada en esa página (3.6.x), seguí las instrucciones y funciona … y estoy contento.
